June 2016 Printz Contender Update

printzcontendergraphicHow is it possible that 6 months of the year have gone by and I’ve read almost nothing from 2016?? Well, the past is in the past – I can only look to the future! So, tell me – which of these titles with 3 or more stars do I definitely HAVE to read if I’m going to have anything to say in the mock Printz discussions this year?

See the April Printz Update for information on how I’m compiling these lists. The first list is more traditional contenders. The 2nd list is the titles that just barely touch the age range or are non-fiction.

104 titles have been awarded 3 or more stars this year (6 stars-3, 5 stars-5, 4 stars-29, 3 stars-67). 1 of the 6 star books is too young; 1 of the 5 star books is too young, 12 of the 4 star books are too young, 25 of the 3 star books are too young. That leaves us with 56 books to consider. Books that are new to the list this month are in bold.
